Why skin changes after thirty
Cell turnover slows, collagen production drops a little each year, and the sun damage of your twenties starts to show as uneven tone, rougher texture and the first lines around the eyes and mouth. In India, cumulative UV exposure is the largest single driver, which is why a routine for ageing skin begins with SPF rather than with a cream.
The routine
Morning: cleanse, 10% vitamin C serum for brightness and antioxidant protection, moisturiser, SPF 50+. Night: cleanse, the 0.2% retinol night cream with peptides, two or three nights a week to begin and every night once your skin is comfortable. A pea-sized amount is enough for the whole face. On the nights off retinol, a moisturiser or the dark spot cream.
Retinol speeds up cell turnover and supports collagen; peptides support firmness while the skin repairs overnight. Mild dryness in the first week is normal and passes. Retinol never goes on the same night as exfoliating acids or vitamin C, and it is not for pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Timelines, honestly
Texture smooths within four weeks. Tone evens over six to eight. Fine lines soften between eight and twelve weeks of regular use, and the result holds only as long as the routine does. Deeper wrinkles are a job for a dermatologist, not a cream, and we would rather say so than sell you one more jar.
What helps beyond the bottle
Sleep, because repair happens at night and retinol works alongside it. Sunglasses and a cap in the afternoon, because squinting and UV together write the lines around the eyes. Not smoking, which ages skin faster than almost anything else. And moisturising the neck and the backs of the hands with whatever the face gets, since those are the places that show age first and get skincare last.
